This Valentine’s Day ~ Hallmark or Jesus?
Hallmark tells us that if we care enough, we will send the very best…which of course means one of their greeting cards.
God did send the very best…which of course is Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Today is a day full of romance, love, joy and…chocolate!
Yet for some there is no joy on Valentine’s Day. Instead the day holds a painful reminder of something lacking. Maybe distance is separating you from a loved one, or you have experienced a failed marriage or an abusive relationship. The death of a loved one. Or maybe it’s the absence of a relationship that you have long desired. A broken heart can be unbearable. Maybe you have even made a vow to never love again.
Reach out just one more time.
God has heard your cry.
He sent you Jesus.
“…he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted…” Luke 4:18
Love never harms. Love was never intended to be used for one’s gain. Love has always been something to give. So if this day you find that you won’t be receiving the expression of love that you desire, do this: purchase a lovely card for yourself (and yes, make it a Hallmark!). Choose one with all of the sentiments you so long to hear. Now sign it, “All My love…God.”
We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
GOD IS LOVE!
Beautifully written!!! And oh so true!
Oh how He loves us!!! Thank you, Doris!
